About Me
I am Michael Vacca
I am a photographer and web designer located near Washington, D.C. I started VaccaPhotography as a way to combine two of my passions, photography and web design. I enjoy a broad range of photographic genres including landscape, street, and architecture and I have fifteen years experience as a web designer.
My love for photography started when I was young and has continued throughout my life. My first camera was my father’s Argus C3 film camera, vintage 1955. He passed away when I was very young, so the camera has a special place in my heart.

Photography In D.C.
Living and working in and around Washington D.C gives me the opportunity to visit many magnificent monuments. My favorite monuments and locations include the Iwo Jima War Memorial, the Tidal Basin, and the National Mall.
My Gear
I shoot exclusively with Fujifilm cameras and use their X-T20 model as my primary camera. From my experience, the quality and professionalism of Fujifilm cameras and lenses are exceptional.

Vintage Lenses
I enjoy using older manually focused lenses with my Fujifilm cameras. These “Vintage” lenses have a look and feel that, in my opinion, modern lenses cannot match. These lenses may have their flaws by today’s standards, but I find the flaws add character. My collection of manual focus lenses includes the Pentax Asahi SMC Takumar 35mm f3.5, Minolta MD 50mm f2, and a Five Star 35mm-75mm MC Macro.

Web Designer
I have been designing websites for the past 15 years in the private sector, as a federal employee, and now as a freelance web designer.
My skills include Net Framework, C#, JavaScript, Node JS, PHP, content management systems (CMS) such as Drupal, RedDot, and WordPress, SQL Server, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom.
